WASTEFUL SPENDING & FRAUD
While Minnesotans struggle with rising costs for their family budgets, Kristi Pursell voted to blow the entire $18 billion budget surplus while also voting to raise $10 billion in new taxes. But Pursell wasn’t done. She voted to waste $730 million in taxpayer money on a new luxury office building for politicians including herself, which was more than double the cost of renovating the entire state Capitol. Meanwhile, as nearly $1 billion in fraud was uncovered in government programs, Kristi Pursell voted to block the government from identifying and cracking down on that waste, fraud and abuse.
TAXES
Rather than help Minnesota families, Kristi Pursell chose to raise your taxes and take your hard-earned money. Instead of providing much-needed tax relief for Minnesotans, Pursell chose to make things even more expensive, leaving taxpayers on the hook for her reckless spending spree that only made things worse, by:
- Raising taxes by $10 billion
- Refusing to eliminate the tax on Social Security benefits
- Raising the gas tax and creating an automatic gas tax increase every year
- Failing to send the promised $2,000 rebate checks to taxpayers
- Voting to increase her own pay rather than help us
Immigration

- Voted to give illegal immigrants Minnesota drivers licenses (HJ 498, 1/30/2023)
